Pittenweem Arts Festival

Usually occurs during the first week of August.

We visited Pittenweem for the first time this week and also met up with Mr and Mrs Dog to shows them of the more interesting artists (in our opinion).

The weather forecast had been for rain. That was wrong. It was very hot and sticky. Quite unpleasant as we had dressed for the cold and rain.

Ice creams melted very quickly!  However, we did enjoy most of the artists we visited. We restricted ourselves to the studios along East , Midshore and Westshore.

Today’s entry is taken on West Shore looking East to Mishore.  The bright sun really makes the painted colours ‘pop’.

We did meet up with several artists whose work we had bought previously. In some cases, nearly 40 years ago. They remembered the work!

We will visit Pittenweem later in the week and visit some more studios, but they will be located in the High Street and Routine Row.

I volunteered to walk back to the designated car park and drive down onto Mid Shore to collect Pat and Mrs Dog. They were quite warm and tired. So was I, but ‘good deed for the day’.

Then I dropped Mr and Mrs Dog at their car in the designated car park and we then drove home.

Pittenweem is a village and parking in the centre is impossible during the festival. This gives a very pleasant atmosphere.

Mildly surprised to see that I walked over six miles.

If you are near Pittenweem this week then why not visit some artists.
