Feeding Time

My annual record shot of the house martins. Looks like they are having an OK year. I’ve seen three heads popping out of the nest, and that’s probably the maximum number who can look out at any one time. The nest and its surrounds are an untidy affair, not helped by the artificial nest (which was put up after the old nest fell off one winter. The martins have refused to use it, but the wooden shelf provides a stable shelf for the nest they built themselves).
