Hey, What's That On Your Neck?

An immature male Ruby-throated hummingbird, identified by the tiny spot of iridescent red feathers on his neck. The red throat patch is called the 'gorget' and will eventually cover his entire neck. This young'un was busy visiting the bright red and orange flowers in our yard, when he decided to take a short break.
