Clouds in the distance

Back home this afternoon. A little rain fell at the airport just after we landed and there have been big puffy clouds along the norther edge of the valley all day. The weather folks say the monsoon is here and we should expect rain, and lower temps, for the rest of the week. Good.

The trip home was interesting. Up and out early, and checked in at the airport when I got a call on my cell. American Airlines - the plane had a problem and they wouldn't have a replacement for 3 hours - we would miss our connection from Dallas to Phoenix. Their plan was to book us to Chicago, from Dallas, then to Phoenix. I suggested they might consider a connection through Alaska too.

Anyway. After some more pissy-ness on my part, and some to-ing and fro-ing from the airline, they booked us on a non-stop US Airways flight which got us home two hours earlier than sked. A good result for once. Unpacked and kicking back - work tomorrow.
