Local hospital
The gardens in our local hospital are superb. I had a wander around them after my appointment today and sat on one of the benches to drink my cappuccino.
The eye clinic was heaving, as usual. My visual acuity test was much better than last time. Had a long wait after that till I saw the surgeon though. My appointment was for 09:20 and I got there 10 minutes early after Terry dropped me off.
Test was done at 09:40 and I saw the surgeon at 10:45! I was advised to reduce the pred forte drops from 6 to 4 a day now, for 2 weeks, then 2 drops a day for 2 weeks, then stop. If any problems, get back in touch with them but otherwise they will see me again in 6 months re assessment for the left eye cataract (it's only early stages). Given a prescription for extra eye drops and told I'm OK to drive now - yay!
Terry has taken the right eye lenses out of my out of my distance specs (I felt a bit conspicuous at the clinic and doing the eye test ha ha) for me and I need to continue like that for now. You are advised not to go for new spectacles till at least 6 weeks after the op.
The visual acuity was much the same for both eyes, barely any difference and that was with the one (left eye) lens in the specs to do the test.
Pharmacy said it would be about 50 minutes wait for my prescription so I went for a wander and then got a Costa coffee and I'd just got it when they texted me that the prescription was ready! I collected it then took my coffee outside with me and had a sit in the garden area.
While in the queue at Costa I noticed the lady in front of me had a bright yellow eye and it had run down her face - I thought, I bet mine is the same - mortified! It was. The fluorescent yellow eye is due to a certain type of drop they use to have a look. I'm still getting rid of it.
Looking forward to having a little drive in my car tomorrow.
