Champs

A big day for the cricket club - through to the cricket Scotland Challenge Cup Final and tensions were running high (mainly for MrKT and I). We can’t quite decide if we enjoy watching our son play - we become a bit too invested and stressed. Good job he’s not in the olympics!!
But the lads played well, batting first and reaching 199. They were looking good out in the field, runs were racking up, our son took 3 quick wickets, and then it rained. It’ was forecast. So they stopped just before 6pm and awaited the verdict from the umpires, after the complicated calculation of runs/wickets and the first number you thought of. We were fairly confident they had won, but had to wait till gone 7pm when the rain continued and finally the officials announced their decision.Penicuik took the trophy - a great achievement for the team although not the final they would have hoped for. Comiserations to the runners up - Gordonians. They took it in good spirit - if the game had continued it could have been a close one.
Big celebration all round and MrKTand I headed home leaving the team to continue long in to the night!
