Memories
A flat calm crossing overnight on the ferry. Just over 7 hours and we were safely berthed in Aberdeen. Four and a half hours on the train, and I was in Newcastle, being welcomed with open arms by my aunt.
We had lunch in the garden and chatted and laughed and caught up on family news. We last saw each other at my mum's/her sister's funeral last September, but we do keep in touch regularly.
It's great being with as she is only six years older than me and was like a big sister in my eyes.
I love seeing things in her house that remind me of my childhood. I read so many of her books, but don't remember this one, published the year I was born. The illustrations are just perfect!
End of day one!
