Wide Wednesday. Natural world
BobsBlips has set natural world as the challenge. I live in town so there isn’t much choice here but I have been meaning to blips some artwork hanging around our house. Most of our art has been done by someone in our family or someone I know apart from a couple of prints by famous artists.
This was done by W O’Shea and is the only art I wanted from Mum and Dad’s house. It is very lifelike and done on the farm where we grew up. The Macquarie River went in a huge U shape around the property, a total of about 5 miles. This part we called Red Cliffs and was a very popular spot for barbecues and picnics. It holds very special memories for me. In flood times the water went well up the banks on the other side and flooded the paddocks on our side.
My cold sore is now hard and crusty. Now I know why people avoid getting them.
Doctor’s visit for Bob today. On the walk home (we do have a car but like to walk when we can) we stopped into Coles supermarket looking for a replacement jar to fit in my yogurt maker. The other one was dropped yesterday, a litre of fresh yogurt splat. I didn’t see the mess but luckily Bob saved enough to keep as a starter. I’ve been using the same starter for years. It even comes on holiday with us. Coles is in a shopping complex which is mostly empty shops, very sad to see. The rent in those complexes are too high for small businesses. Coles is too big for me, they make it hard to find things as it is so spread out and in no order that I could work out, I think it is confusing so people get lost and buy more.
I took off my dressing from surgery 2 weeks ago. I’m healing well. I have some bruising and guess the scarring will fade in time.
