Storm clouds, interesting light, and a visitor

Lots of photo opportunities in Sumner today - why is it sometimes there's lots of shots and other days it's a real struggle to find anything?

Sumner was sunny, though the wind was cold, but the storm was hovering over the city. The light was interesting on the clock tower and the white umbrellas.

Have never seen a seal at Sumner before, this one seemed to be enjoying the sun. What I couldn't work out was how it got up on this concrete plinth, as the sides are smooth and steep.
