Over the Hill

This sight may not be here next year. It's the view from Coach Road in Shepshed just before the tunnel under the motorway. On the other side of the tunnel, about 100m in, a blue wooden post marks where the new road will cross from the estate to be built towards the A512 over the hill. See extra for picture of post.

The day was cloudy. August is such a depressing month for the countryside. The leaves of the trees go dark green. The verges are often dusty, there are no wild flowers to speak of other than flowering thistle, hawkweed and rose bay willow herb. There was hardly anything by the side of the path today. The path sides have been roughly finished after the cable laying.

Cecily hadn't been out for over a week. Basil and I remedied that today with our walk.
