Edna O'Brien
My little tribute to this Irish writer who has just left us, because I like her books and she means something in my life.
I bought 'Johnny, I Hardly Knew You' in Canterbury in 1979. It took me a long time to read it in English, but I kept trying and managed to do it not so badly after all this time.
The other one I bought in London in 1989. It had taken me ten years to get back to England.
My life had changed a lot in those ten years. What a story!
