Liatris

New bulbs purchased for this year, but with mixed results due to slug/snail damage. There are existing groups of these perennial  plants in different areas of the garden, all doing well without any damage at all. Perhaps the new ones have tender stems which could make them vulnerable?
A cloudy, humid day with very little in the way of sunshine.
