Meet...
...Stella...
No, she's not mine but she is my nephew's new addition! A lab/husky cross. Gorgeous!
My mum is home. It has been a long day which started off with a meeting in Dalgety Bay, followed by another meeting near Oakley, then up to Perth then up to Ninewells! By the time I got to Perth my mum had called my dad to let him know she was getting out today.
We met with the OT (none of us took to her...she was very patronising and she knew best...) who was still trying to get us to accept the carers for my mum but we let my mum decide and she said no. The OT was also adamant that the thing with my mum's hands has been caused by the brain bleed - we all said "Nooooooooo" at the same time. The thing with her hands has been going on for 9 months whereas the brain bleed started about 4-5 weeks ago. I asked if there could have been a brain bleed 9 months back and she said quite possibly but as she wasn't a doctor she could not say for sure... But she insisted the hand thing was caused by the brain bleed...
We then asked to speak with the consultant and I reminded the OT that I asked that she be present at the meeting... thankfully she was free! She was lovely. Very straight forward and down to earth. She confirmed the thing with my mum's hands was not caused by the bleed as it would have only been on one side. It is more likely to be neuropathy caused by her diabetes and thyroid. We can ask the GP to investigate further if it gets worse.
So, a long story very short and after a tiring day we are glad that mum is home and can have a decent night's sleep!
