A day in the life

Cherries

It's harvest time but my few options to harvest anything has gone wrong. The three berry bushes I have os only on their first year so my hopes were probably overrated. My red currants looked very good but a summer storm broke off the berry-heavy thin branches. The raspberries was probably underwatered by me and have only very small fruits and the brambleberrry bush has only recently started to grow and there's not a berry in sight.

In the freezer, however, I found half a kilo of rinsed cherries from 2018, ready to make into some compote, witch I did and have already enjoyed, together with some ice-cream. Delicious.

The evening was spent listening to a local concert. I knew the female vocalist from before but not the male piano player. He has made translations into Swedish of some ten songs by Joni Mitchell, a very brave repertoar to get into. As far as he knew nobody has translated her songs into Swedish until now. Their performance was in the form of a story of her life, in her own words, probably translated from her biography. For some reason they had chosen all her well known mellow songs, no up-tempo songs at all. The church had a poor speaker system so much of her/his lyrics was made incomprehensible. Pity, I really liked the concept and gave them some feedback afterwards, I know I like some feedback from the audience after a concert too and we could agree on some points. This was their dress rehearsal for the premiére in a month and I'm sure it's going to be better.
