Bolivia meets Kirkcudbright
Having resolved to take time off from the garden at least once a week, we set off this morning for the artist’s town of Kirkcudbright. There are many artistic associations but we mainly wanted to visit the local gallery to see the Raeburn portrait exhibition. We spent some time there and had coffee and lunch then ambled round the town. We then visited the wonderful Ellen McGregor’s nursery and acquired some fabulous plants which I found a place for when I got home. The Blip is of a Bolivian begonia in a huge planter in Mrs McGregor’s walled garden. Very dramatic and desirable.
