Making another viking boat
The family of 4 went to Ganges, Saltspring Island today and got errands done for us …and groceries. And lunch. We dogsat. And then the boys found a very cool piece of driftwood to use for a viking boat for Aunt Edla a cousin of mine who just died at 95. She was a true viking, Wrote and sent a family newspaper, the Dagblatet, around every month. I promised her I’d do a Viking boat (if I lasted longer! ) I thought this would be a good time as Eric and Anne went to Hawaii and met Aunt Edla and her husband at their condo in January and in November , 2002, Niklas was born. Oskar put this shirt on for Aunt Edla. I will take a photo later for the extra, hopefully but wanted to post the artists at work… (One extra). They always make something.
2 more extras : the finished boat with candle, the knit bear on bow. ..(a tribute to her knitting 140 ?bears …the Mother Bear project…. Kids with Aids in Africa, )the spectacular night sky, the send off crew, next stop: Valhalla . RIP Aunt Edla
