Question - if a conifer has this brown damage (right side of photo), will it ever recover in that area? 

Ukrainian athletes have been boosting morale. Outdoor watch parties in Kyiv. 140 athletes. The slogan, “will to win.” Russian and Belarusian athletes have to compete w/o a country. They are screened to make sure they haven’t actively supported the war and then they can compete as Individual  Neutral Athletes. The Parisian mayor gave the Ukrainian athletes the Grand Vermeil Medal, the city's highest honor.


Today Ukraine invaded Russia. This is not my attempt at a joke. 1,000 soldiers have gone into Russia near Kursk. “ Russian war bloggers close to the Russian military said Ukraine seized several villages and advanced several miles in two directions.” - Wall Street Journal  It may be to distract Russia from two important areas where they are making inroads. “ While senior Russian officials played down the extent of the Ukrainian advance, Russian war bloggers and volunteers close to the military said Kyiv's forces had swept into lightly guarded territory that had unprepared defenses and weak troops.”
