31st ~ Day out

Sim woke feeling better but Nat had been up all night with an upset tummy.  We have all eaten the same so, again, I think it’s just exhaustion.  Anyway, she stayed home for the day.

Bex, Josh & Natalie headed off to Berck to have breakfast.  Mr C, O and I followed and met them at the restaurant just as they finished.  I bought O an expensive but cheaply made push along car and Mr C bought H an all in one with ‘My Papa is my hero’ in French as that’s what they call Mr C. ;-D

We drove further up the beach to see the seals of Berck and Sim met us there with H. We stayed there a while watching the seals and then headed to Montrueil sur Mer.  The plan was to eat there but we always forget about the opening times and they close between 2-7pm.  We had a wander but, although it was quite cloudy, it was very hot and humid so didn’t get to walk the wall or see the citadel.  We ended buying some pizzas in a small supermarket and headed back to the house.

O has taken a long time to settle at night (for most of the holiday) and therefore is quite tired during the day and we are seeing a grumpy, defiant little boy that we are not used to seeing.

After dinner I was paddling in the pool that Sim had set up as it was still very hot.  O got in with me fully dressed and it wasn’t too long before he was in fully clothed and having a whale of a time.
