Trica; a life well red

I noticed, as we waited outside the crematorium, that most people had complied with Steve’s instructions regarding the dress code; “smart - not black - and with a splash of red”.  Even Bertie took notice (see extra).  Inside, Trica’s trademark red hat was placed on the coffin during the service.  

Later on, at a reception in the hotel on the High Street, it took pride of place in front of board of photos celebrating Trica’s life.  

About 100 people had come to sat goodbye - and to trade stories of a life well lived and clearly well-loved. Even though we only met her four years ago, when we became neighbours, we count ourselves lucky to be among them.
