Biba
Did I mention the miniMinx landed a job? A really good one, to boot, working in a production in London for a year.
She starts on Monday but already had a trip to Ibiza booked, so the Minx worked her logistical magic, and this morning she and I set off for London with all of the miniMinx's possessions in the back of the car.
Although my brother is in Spain and my folks are on a cruise down the Danube, we still stayed in the Premier Inn at Tolworth, mainly because the parking there is very secure and the miniMinx's life was in the car.
In the afternoon, we took the train up to London. As a surprise, I'd bought tickets for an exhibition at the Fashion and Textile Museum. The Minx knows a lot about fashion (and I don't) but I took a punt on the current exhibition, 'The Biba Story'.
I'm not sure it was a hundred percent her thing but we enjoyed wandering around and it was an interesting and well curated exhibition, touching on lots of pop history (which I do know about).
What we definitely did enjoy was the walk from Waterloo along The Cut, Union Street, Newcomen Street, and Snowsfields, so we took the journey back along that route nice and slowly, mooching around Vinegar Yard, stopping at two or three pubs, including Dan's favourite, The Lord Nelson.
