Nature's window
Today was another bad weather day. My Blackberry kept vibrating all afternoon and I had no idea why. I eventually figured out that it was my weather applet. It was showing with red exclamation marks where it normally displayed the conditions. THe alerts indicated that the weather service had issued severe thunderstorm and flash flood warnings for my county! This was a surprise and I was not thrilled about the idea of being flooded. I heard rain pouring down and thunder throughout the day. I checked periodically on Mrs TMG and the little TMGs. The weather was equally bad at home, but everyone made it through in one piece.
As bad as the weather was today, it would break and every once in a while and the sun would sneak through. This would only last for a few moments and then the storms would start up again. It was during one of the brief breaks where I captured this shot. My goal was to capture the gray and unsettled sky from the incoming storm.
I like the angry sky in this shot, and how the foliage frames it like a natural window. The large tonal was difficult to capture and so I chose to use HDR for this shot.
I also wanted to say a big thank you to everyone who commented on my 200th blip yesterday. I really appreciate everyone's thoughtful comments.
