Life in a Northern Town

Clever girl

Sarah has finished this cross-stitch that she bought (at eye watering expense….) in Geneva - she has so much patience.

Just watched the men’s bouldering and lead climbing final on Eurosport (I’m not sure if BBC were able to show it live) - absolutely brilliant - I won’t give any spoilers in case you haven’t seen it, but if you can find it, watch it!

Mother is now in a residential home five minutes walk from home for Chris. So far everything about it is positive, except I think he has finally realised she is unlikely to come home - that’s tough for him, although he knows he wouldn’t be able to cope, and that it wouldn’t be safe for either of them if she did. The proximity to home is a huge bonus, and there’s a pretty garden too. I’m going down next weekend to see for myself but currently it’s a relief that she can at last try to settle somewhere and have some quality of life - she’s had none really for 3 months, it must have affected her mental state and exacerbated her memory issues.
