Union
The Union Canal as it passes near Harrison Park. When we first moved to Edinburgh we lived nearby. I used to cycle to work along the towpath. In the interim it’s been tarted up a bit - the path is mostly tarmac, and where it ends at Lochrin Basin has shops and fancy apartments. It is much more pleasant.
Today I walked to the shops the long way round - over Craighouse Hill, along the Union Canal up to the basin and then back through Tollcross and Bruntsfield. 6 miles instead of 1 but interesting and enjoyable.
