ON A BENCH
I decided to go into Westbourne on the bus so I walked up through Boscombe Chine Gardens and sat on my favourite bench in the shade, where I was quietly praying for my family and friends.
A young American lady came up to me, offered me her hand saying her name was Victoria. She looked at me for a moment then got a little package out of her pocket. She told me she had been praying and God had told her to give the package to a lady wearing yellow trousers and a white top - no prizes for guessing what I had on today, which was obviously why she had looked at me! The gift was a pair of beautiful pearl earrings.
We had a lovely conversation and in a short space of time I have made another friend. To say I was God-smacked (thanks KB) is an understatement.
I needed that beautiful gift from God and Victoria needed encouragement - so He brought us together - how fantastic is that?
I explained about blipping and said this would definitely be my blip for today - and although I already had one planned - I would find a way to fit this meeting into the challenge.
After we had parted company - having exchanged email addresses - I looked at the list for the HeartFreek July Photo Challenge - and ON A BENCH it had to be - so here is the gift on the very bench where we met, chatted and prayed together.
Much like yesterday, this song has nothing to do with benches or gifts but Victoria said she had read Psalm 61 this morning - I asked her if she knew this song, Lead Me To The Rock - and she said she did, so this one is for Victoria - with my grateful thanks. What a blessing on a Monday morning!!
