Anniversary Flight
Nineteen years ago I was in a position to take Mrs B flying to commemorate our wedding anniversary. As an instructor I was scaled for 5 hours' flying a month for my own proficiency, something you can't maintain while teaching in the air, and the rules were such that I could gain permission to fly a non-pilot.
Mrs B didn't exactly enjoy the flight, but it was a momentous event nonetheless. And she has stuck with me since then, notwithstanding the ordeal :-)
The aircraft is a Grob Tutor, an aircraft which was long used for elementary and basic flying training in the RAF and RN. Thankfully there is a much more powerful aircraft now in use (the Tutor is a bit like an airborne moped) but it is still used for air experience flying and similar elementary purposes.
