Fake Plastic (Flowers)*

An enjoyable conversation last night with the Professor of Holy Wells who is now in Ireland on a sabbatical having come over from Tennessee to host the conference in Buxton and then nip over to Ireland via Scotland and the Isle of Man. We arranged to meet up next week in County Clare for a couple of days of  holy well festing centred around Lady Day, 15th August.  Now if you think I can visit a lot of holy wells in one day I am put in the shade by C who is known to nip across the country several times in one day!
The gear box of our car has been making a bit of a whining noise so Himself went off to the garage to get it checked out before my road trip. Bad news. A new gearbox is required - this involves a lot of complicated manoeuvres which Himself has been trying to organise, with partial but not conclusive success, but it won't be quick and it wont be cheap. Plan B. No trip to Clare, Luckily C is here until the end of October so we should manage a jaunt at some time or other.
Other than that it's been a grey day with warm damp wind and my hair is wild. 
Two windows with flowers for the price of one here and some interesting things going on lower down.
