Marjorie's ramblings

Willow by the North Tyne

I started the day with a trip to Ashington. Kate had to take her car there for its MOT and I brought her home. Another friend was going to take her back this afternoon to collect the car, hopefully with a new MOT.

I tidied up a bit and switched on the Olympics. I had no idea that rock climbing could be so exciting/anxiety provoking. Toby Roberts was very surprised to be the gold medal winner.  What a talent.

This afternoon, I went to Acomb Woods for a short walk. It was very windy and the woods are quite sheltered. Three boys, about 8 or 9 years old were scrambling up a very steep, dry incline and sliding down again. Great fun but I wonder what their mother will say when they see their clothes tonight!

Some willow has been planted near the river to stop erosion. It's doing well. I liked the sparkling water in the background.

Margret came in for a cup of tea and a chat.

It's been an easy going and pleasant day.

PS I'm so glad I don't have to drive to and from Ashington very often. The traffic is horrid.
