A rubbish trip
Instead of a blip of us seeing comedian, Jo Caulfield, you are getting a blip of Leith Walk, after failing to get to the Stand venue in time.
We had left an hour and a quarter, which we thought would be enough time to travel just over 5 miles, however, we were thwarted by gridlock by the Picardy Place roundabout/junction thing … approximately 10 years (and huge amounts of money spent) of roadworks and it still doesn’t work.
I know the city is especially busy just now, due to the festivals, but this junction is confusing and chaotic at the best of times and suits no one, neither buses, cars, trams, bicycles nor pedestrians!
Just wait till the refuse collections (aka Bin Men) go on strike next week, if they don’t accept the revised pay offer. This city is quite non functioning for its residents a lot of the time. That said, you are ok if you are a tourist or student!
Anyway, we gave up and decided to come back home and are now eating some delicacies from the local chippy.
Hope you are having a good evening.
