For the past several months, workmen have been busy refurbishing these two flyovers which are right outside the back door or our block of flats. Intrigued by the huge new chains installed beneath the flyovers, I did a Google search and discovered that they are shearing stoppers, designed and manufactured by Sho-Bond Corporation. Actually, a lot of flyovers around the city have been fitted with shearing stoppers recently. With the recent earthquake in Kyushu two days ago, one yesterday in Kanagawa, and a one week advisory to remain alert for possible second quake along the Nankai Trough, this is reassuring.
