Birthing day

Elder son begins his 39th birthday with celebratory cruffin (muffin made with croissant dough) while his younger brother, 36 today, makes his way back to Wales from Spain via Portsmouth. 

Yes, August 9th is a good day for birthing and indeed for much of the day midwives were coming and going to our (ex)holiday cottage whose current tenants' expected baby was making her way into the world. She took her time however and didn't  arrive until 45 minutes after midnight.
