........does it take to open the boom gate?
Here we have 3. About 60% of the time it works by remote but the other 40% one of them has to get up and do it manually. 
Actually it probably only takes 2 as at the other end was a solitary man working it single handed.
There is also a driver in the vehicle to escort you through. And one at the top of the hill presumably to check you aren't oversized.
At $50/hour each, 24 hours a day it's going to be an expensive job.
There were no actual repairs taking place today.
