Old friends

Forty three years ago, almost to the day, these two friends and I started a new WI. As secretary, vice-president and president, we feel we shaped what has been a successful WI in the intervening years. Our children were small (one of us was pregnant!) and grew up together and we have grown older together. We are no longer on the WI committee of course, but A and I are still active. G moved away to Dorset where she revitalised an ailing WI and keeps them all on their toes.

We don't meet with G as often as we used to but there is always a lot to talk about when we get reminiscing!

Good news! We have just spoken to our new neighbours and they have decided not to put a window overlooking our garden! They didn't like the idea of obscured glass so they are putting Velux windows on the side. I think we'll go out and celebrate!
