Staple. Head.
So there I was cycling to work. Almost at work. And my chain skips off just as I put the hammer down to make some lights ahead. I feel myself going down, hard, and next thing there are a couple of concerned guys helping me to my feet.
Strangest thing about the concussion was not being able to remember my address or the name of my work colleague who had taken me to the hospital when I arrived dazed. Took the form of the old migraines I used to suffer - right side going numb, slurring speech. Thankfully that passed, and by the time I'd passed from minor injuries at the Western to the Royal I was pretty much compus mentis. And Mel had taken over babysitting. Result is a staple in my head, and a paranoia that has seen me grab the helmet from the cupboard (and I'm not entering any debates on helmets here, just not worth it, and I think personal choice is still entirely the way to go - I'll delete any comments trying to get the debate going, yes it might have stopped the cut head, no guarantee it would have stopped the concussion, and might have caused neck injuries - so waaaay too much in the debate, with holier than though arguments from both sides, for me to want to see it here).
