Courage

A heraldic panel believed to have originated in Pittulie Castle and now set into the gable of the Steading at nearby Mains of Pittulie farm. (Just below the chimney stack in the second extra)

The castle, shown in the extra, was built by the Frasers of Philorth around 1596. It later passed to the Cumine family  and to William Forbes before being abandoned around 1850. It is situated in a field within sight of Pitsligo Castle and as the extra shows is in a ruinous state.
