Walking
Had a walk this morning. Went from home to Sherdley Park and walked around parts of the park. Saw the new skateboard / scooter park and was underwhelmed to say the least. When i got there nobody was using it but then 2 young boys entered and used to for a chase (on foot) and a bloke went in with a little girl and a scooter. He used the scooter and the little girl ran around on the ramps. I don't know what I expected of this new installation but other skateboard parks that I've seen look far superior to this. Maybe I'm expecting tool much! I couldn't get a photo because you daren't take any these days where there are children about.
It had been nothing like rain when I set off from home and rain was not forecast so when it started drizzling I didn't think a lot of it - thought it would blow over. It came a bit harder so I thought to use my UV brolly to stay dry. This worked well until it turned torrential and with the breeze and the UV brolly being the lightweight one, the rain came under it sideways - and lots of it! It also kept running down my back off the back of the brolly! Got half way home and rang Terry who had been expecting a call when it chucked down. Arrived home to sunshine - typical.
Next door's youngest kicked the football very hard against our fence and 2 of the upright boards came off. Luckily they did not break and at least his dad came round to tell us. Terry soon fixed it. The lad has at least 3 footballs and all of them land in our back garden countless times a day and his mum keeps telling him not to come round to ask for the balls back and says he has to wait till we have time to chuck them back over. Well, we have time, but not always the inclination when we chuck them back and 2 minutes later they are back again!
A few weeks ago he was smashing a ball (repeatedly and hard) against our (closed) drive gates which I was not pleased about and I gave him a disapproving look which fortunately stopped him or I'd have sent Terry out to have words! Kids! He's not a bad kid - I don't suppose he thinks he might damage the gates. He probably has a lot of energy he needs to burn off.
