Shadow of the Shard
As part of our wedding anniversary celebrations, we went up to the 72nd floor of The Shard, in London for a 360 degree view of London from the highest viewing platform in the capital ("almost twice the height of any other viewing platform in the capital" says their blurb). We were blessed with exceptional weather and excellent viewing conditions. The evening sun cast a shadow of the building which seemed to point to Tower Bridge.
The champagne tasted good, too.
A couple of thoughts for any other photographers planning the same trip: the windows did seem to rob my photographs of critical sharpness, and don't wear light coloured summer clothing because it reflects in the glass!
Later we went for an excellent meal at the Swan restaurant next to the Globe Theatre, with views out over the river. A good evening.
