Attempted robbery...

I'm pretty sure that this early morning visitor, on the outside of my bedroom window, was a robberfly, although I can't work out the exact species. I have a bit of a soft spot for these badass little insects, which go round staging home invasions disguised as their prey. This shot proves once again that nothing shows up how dusty your windows are quite like a macro lens!
