Super onions
The only things that have grown on my allotment this year, with any real success. But from them, some are huge. The largest 3 weighing 13oz each. In total over 50 good onions and a big pile of shallots too which I will pickle - although some of those are too big to pickle. I should get at least one jar for Christmas out of them.
We have had a really lovely and very productive weekend on the allotment and in the garden, cutting back weeds. With the brown bin now full again I'm stuck for another 2 weeks until it is emptied. The garden is still so full of weeds.
Ended the weekend by allowing ourselves the afternoon on the beach reading. It was extremely busy and very windy. So much so that I didn't go in the sea. It was nice just watching all the little children enjoying the sea.
Cooked a roast and it was lovely to have Dan and Henry to join us. We had that giant potato between us and some peas i’d manged to rescue and we sat in the garden. Even at 8pm it was warmer than the beach had been all afternoon.
Now finishing off the weekend watching the closing ceremony of the Olympics.
