I was lying on the sofa this morning watching the track cycling from Paris when my partner suggested, quite on a whim really, that we should go for the International Festival and see this straight after the play that we were already planning to go to. Why not? That time of year isn't it. Happy to report that both were highly impressive.

After that we bussed it down to Morningside to sit in the sun outside Matto (the best pizzas in town I reckon) where we were joined by our youngest girl before she went back to Glasgow. Even though both of our girls now live in Glasgow and we are officially 'child-free' for the first time since pre-May 2003...they keep coming back!!! Is that normal? ;-)

Back into town for us grown-ups for an alfresco pint and to catch some comedy - Glenn Wool at The Counting House (decent, a sparse crowd, general lack of atmosphere tbh). Onwards to Niddry Street straight after to finish off our cultural Sunday with The Big Show at Hive Monkey Barrel. Pay-what-you-want type of affair for a very decent show with a compere and four comedians.
