Aurora versus Perseids

I had a late lesson last night that didn't finish until 11pm and at midnight I was still struggling to get off to sleep. I recalled that there was a good chance of seeing meteor showers so I stuck the phone up against the back window and took a couple of shots. I did capture one but was very small and was taken before midnight. I crawled into bed but my mind would not stop, so need up getting up and trying again after midnight. First shots out the back window were ok but no perseids. Then decided to look out my bedroom window! lots of street light so didn't hold out much hope! How wrong was I?! Not only meteor shower captured but a flipping aurora going on too. 
Got up and took some shots with the phone, 2am I was still at it!
