MM - Memories

Three years ago today came home from early morning walk with the ladies to find husband R feeling unwell - phoned NHS Direct - ambulance dispatched - he later died at Bradford Royal Infirmary - has been a day of recounting memories

Whilst on foreign holidays R always bought a baseball cap - despite family and friends taking one or two from his collection as a memento - still have a case full of them - all come with a memory - R wore them when we got back home - not all at the same time - on a rotational basis - this being the one worn the day before his death and has been left hanging on the coat rack and not consigned to the case with the others

Memory behind this one is that R was wearing it as he sung Delilah - a Tom Jones number - in restaurant with a semi professional Italian opera singer - accompanied by a chap on accordion -whilst we were holidaying in Lake Garda - R knew the song well - was his big number in preceding local am dram group panto - the Italian singer didn’t seem to know all the words in English - the accordionist provided a brilliant accompaniment - life with R wasn’t dull
