Amish Country

Some of the Geauga County roads have reopened after the storm damage, so we drove out to Welton Gorge for a forest walk on a beautiful day. We enjoyed seeing big open sky full of clouds, lots of cornfields, rolling farmland hills, and areas around Middlefield that we haven't seen before.  Sunday is an Amish day of rest.  Many Amish people were out walking, riding in carriages, or sitting together in the shade of a barn.  For the first time we saw several adults and kids on low bicycles with wire baskets attached in front.  It must be the new rage amongst the Amish. The speed limits are too high in these areas with slow moving carriages and people walking or bicycling at the side of the narrow roads.
