Cakes

for birds
for the winter

which I made today.
They've just gotten solid again, but are still quite soft.

This morning after doggie walk I put on my boots and left the short legged home and went to the hill that is right next to our fence. Some of it actually is land owned by us. Anyway I went looking for Rowanberries to freeze for the birds for the winter. Found enough. Picked some Lingonberries and Blueberries for them as well. And some Chanterelles for my father. All that in 20 minutes or so.

So I melted some old coconut oil that I had. Took out the suitable mold. Added the seeds and berries that I had and poured over the coconut oil with little canola oil and let them go solid again.

As the mold has the whole in it, I can just wrap a string through the hole and voilá.

It's been raining on and off all day. I made tomato soup for me from my own tomatoes. And fixed a nice cucumber feta salad. I'm still coughing, but getting more done and feeling better.
