Yellow Roses
Today yellow roses are usually associated with joy and friendship, but did you know that in Victorian times they could send a more negative message to the recipient? According to floriography, or the language of flowers, if you received yellow roses in the 19th century, the sender may have been letting you know that they suspected you of being unfaithful to them, or that they no longer loved you and wanted to end the relationship, or they may even have been accusing you of cowardice! Personally I prefer to think of happiness and celebration when I see yellow roses.
