Seal
It was a beautiful day today - 19ºC, fresh, sunny and breezy (no heatwave down here). We went for a "coastal cruise" this afternoon in a small boat otherwise used for fishing. The captain took us south west along the coast to coves where the Seals pup, and huge sea stacks where the Black-backed gulls, Shags, Gannets and Razorbills nest. The Seals were all hauled out at low tide on flat rocks in the sunshine, apart from a pair that followed us back to the harbour and popped their heads up hoping for a mackerel or two. They and the captain were clearly on first name terms, but they hadn't worked out that we had been sight-seeing instead of fishing.
