Memory
They say an elephant never forgets. I thought this little china ornament would be quite apt for the theme of this week’s Mono Monday. I always remember it being on display with the other ornaments as a child and I’m sure I used to play with it too. It belonged to my father who obviously bought it as a souvenir on a scout trip to a camp near Stirling in the 1930s. No doubt his first time away from home and a present to bring back to his mother. He had great memories of his scouting days and tales of that trip would be recounted to me from time to time.
So the little elephant lives on, keeping safe so many memories.
