Catching the late afternoon sun………17:53

A day after a night of little sleep due to a streaming nose!
I surmised it was either a bad case of hay fever or I’d caught Stephen’s cold..
I didn’t feel all that good this morning but took an antihistamine and some paracetamol. All this resulted in my feeling very sleepy by lunchtime!
The temperature didn’t reach 29C today, but it has been very humid.
Not long after breakfast a thunderstorm passed overhead, dispensing some rain amidst its rumblings and a weak lightning flash. The washing was put out, and then brought in again, before hanging it out once more this afternoon.
I had to gather my wits about me to face my usual French Conversation session, at 4:00pm as Thierry had returned from his holidays.
I was rather exhausted afterwards.
Stephen returned from a meeting in Birmingham, so we decided to have our tea outside sitting under the patio umbrella as the sun was slipping lower in the sky. I took the photo.
Tonight it is the peak of the Perseid meteor shower along with possibly the Northern lights,
Unfortunately it looks very cloudy right now,
One year I took out a reclining patio chair along with a duvet and laid it back as far as it could go to watch the heavens. All this at 1:00 a.m.
it was absolutely spectacularly amazing watching for a good hour all those shooting stars appearing then disappearing in a flash of a tail.
I came back into the house around 2:30 a.m. feeling very small in this vast universe.
A sight which I have never forgotten.
Running behind with comments and still feeling a bit yuck.
An early night and sleep will rectify that hopefully!
