Northern Kin day 3

Another gorgeous clear sky day dawned and I’d managed a little more sleep than yesterday. We took a lazy morning enjoying some homegrown potatoes fried with various breakfast meats accompanied by fried eggs and beans. Yum and a filling way to start the day.

We didn’t head into the area until lunchtime and luckily caught the last three tunes from Xander and the pirates and were disappointed that we hadn’t been there early enough to listen to more as they were really enthusiastic.

We’d stopped at the merchandise stalls on the way in to listen to the music as our friend Stuart was keen to pick up a gift for his wife. He found some trousers he thought she’d like so I tried in a pair as she and I are not dissimilar sizes. He got two pairs and I bought one pair and the stall holder gave us a wee discount.

After listening Cardinal Black, a wee group from South Wales, who were very very good we headed back to the caravan to drop off the trousers and enjoy some snacks with a wee glass of wine. A fly decided to take a swim in my glass but was easily fished out.

Back to the arena in time to catch a few tunes from Pentangle which were nice and mellow on a sunny afternoon.

I then had a dilemma as Skipinnush were playing at the same time as the Bay City Rollers but I managed to catch a little of the Rollers set. As there’s only one original member I wasn’t too fussed about watching the whole set so I headed back after the first two songs.

After Skipinnish had the whole arena jumping, Bug Country should have been great but sadly they were a little meh.

Jools Holland and his orchestra on the other hand were superb. A wonderful 90 minutes of music and chat. That’s how you end a festival!
