The Spot

It's not been a great summer for sunsets, and it's a while since I posted one, despise our vista westwards, so here is something slightly different. It could also be the last one for a while. I think that currently somewhat interesing, and huge, scaffolding structure, towering over the burned stables, is about to be covered in cladding, so that they can work through the winter undeterred by wind and rain. A good plan but boring to look at, and it will conceal the horizon

Con-trails that switch themselves on or off abruptly must be a gift to conspiracy theorists, but I'm sure there is some perfectly rational physics going on up there - something to do with different layers of air with different temperature or humidity and aircraft gaining or losing altitude or air speed, I expect. I'm happy to take it as an expression of affection, and a welcome home, from the sky-god
