By curious coincidence our brief meeting with B (MasterFlum) to discuss cars also included Miss Flum, who was just passing so we were able to discuss more weighty matters, such as Power of Attorney, a subject we feel we should explore before we're too demented to sign on the dotted line.
For convenience we met in The Original Inn in Roslin, where this intriguing carving is displayed. Apparently it was discovered during alterations but did not come from the chapel or any obvious source, the conclusion being that it is an apprentice piece for a stone carver. I still think it was a finial from a building long since lost. Who knows, it's an interesting piece whatever its origin.
